Kultaa recreation area is located alongside River Kymijoki in Kultaakoski. The location is popular among rapids canoers and river rafters.
KULTAAKOSKI RECREATION AREA
There is a direct connection to River Kymijoki from Kultaakoski recreation area. There is a parking area for a few cars as well as a well-equipped rest shelter, a toilet and a woodshed at the rest area.
KULTAA RECREATION AREA IS RENOVATED BETWEEN 1ST NOVEMBER 2013 – 28TH FEBRUARY 2014
Its rest structures are renovated and fire safety is improved with a new fireplace, chimney and flue. A new wood shed / composting toilet shall also be added to the destination.
Kyvi ry has leased the land area of Kultaa and owns all the structures. NOTE! The destination is already a litter-free hiking site – everything you bring is also taken away with you. Combustible waste can be burnt.
How to reach Kultaakoski recreation area
By canoeing along River Kymijoki, descending down Kultaakoski and immediately at the east shore after the rapids end. When coming by car, road 357 Anjala – Kotka signposted Kultaanranta. Please note that a tourism company also operates in the area. Leave your car in the recreation area’s parking area. You can continue from Kultaa by bike, along the shore of River Kymijoki, to Pernoo and Kotka.
