Ulko- and Sisä-Naukkosaaret are naturally beautiful islands. There are plenty of platform securings and moorings for boaters. Nature trails circulate the islands.
ULKO- AND SISÄ-NUOKKOSAARET
The Nuokkosaari islands are located near the city of Hamina, approx. 12 km from Tervasaari’s
harbour. There is an extremely beautiful inner harbour that has been formed naturally in between the islands. You can reach the destination in a large boat too. You can moor your boat at a cod-end buoy, rock connectors and the platform. The depth in the area is 2.0 – 4.0 m. There are 19 visiting boat berths. Both islands have nature trails.
The islands and their platforms are popular during the summer. Ulko-Nuokkosaari has mooring places for larger boats too, draught 2-4m. There are 19 visiting boat berths. The islands have campfire sites, woodsheds and toilets. The entire islands form the recreation area. Please note that fires are only allowed to be made in the official fireplaces in the vicinity of the platform. You can erect a tent in a location you find suitable. A good trail network has been established on the islands, use them while you explore the rocky landscape of the islands.
Activities available at the islands of Nuokkosaaret
The islands have nature trails; Sisä-Nuoko 2.5 km and Ulko-Nuokko 1.4 km.
You can go coarse fishing without a permit and ice fishing during the winter. Fishing permits can be paid online. A permit for one lure is subject to the Government’s fishing management fee and the Southern Finland’s provincial lure fishing fee. There are big fish in the vicinity of the shore. Salmon, trout, whitefish and pike have been caught at the shores of the islands… tight lines.
The closest harbour is Tervasaari in Hamina. The islands are accessible by a water taxi.
